Information processed
Website hosting and security services process IP addresses, browser information, requests and security signals to deliver and protect the website. This processing is based on legitimate interests. The website has no enquiry form, accounts, payments, advertising or audience analytics.
Email enquiries contain the sender's contact details, message and any attachments. These are used to answer the enquiry and discuss an engagement, on the basis of steps requested towards an agreement or legitimate interests in handling business correspondence. Providing this information is voluntary. Insufficient contact details or context may prevent a response.
Recipients include the people handling enquiries, hosting and security providers, and business email and file-storage providers. Advisers or authorities may receive information where needed for a legal obligation or claim.
Hosted services may process information abroad, including security-cookie information in the United States. Provider safeguards include confidentiality terms, encryption and access controls. International transfers are subject to section 72 of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Retention and protection
Retention depends on the purpose of the record and legal requirements, including handling enquiries, administering engagements and retaining company or tax records. Information must be deleted, destroyed or de-identified when retention is no longer authorised. Cookie expiry is separate from email and server-log retention.
Safeguards include HTTPS, hosting security controls and authenticated business email and file services. Client information processed during an engagement is subject to the processing arrangements for that engagement.
Privacy rights
POPIA provides rights to confirm whether personal information is held, access that information, request correction or deletion, and object to processing in specified circumstances. Confirmation, objections and correction requests are free; a lawful fee may apply to copies. Proportionate evidence of identity or authority may be required. Legal retention duties can limit deletion.
